Cover for theft, fraud or dishonesty committed by your employees causing you direct financial loss on an 'all risks' basis. This includes loss of insured property leased or hired by you for which you are legally liable.

Employee crime insurance with legal expenses cover

legal expenses insurance covers for investigation, legal defence, mitigation, reinstatement of data, reputational recovery and property damage costs. It also provides compensation payments up to £500 per day for senior members of staff and £250 per day for other employees required to attend court; a barrister consultation; a legal arbitration; or a meeting with police authorities.

Cover for business interruption caused by employee crime

Cover for additional costs incurred by you to restore normal business operations, including contractual penalties that you are required to pay; loss of interest;and external recruitment costs for replacement members of staff of employees dismissed as a direct result of internal crime .

Employee crime insurance FAQs

You can add a range of optional covers to your employee crime insurance, including:

  • External crime – cover for theft, fraud or dishonesty committed by a third party
  • Care custody, and control and client loss – cover for loss of money, securities or insured property (i) not belonging to you or leased or hired by you, but which is in your care, custody and control
  • Outsource service provider crime – cover for theft, fraud or dishonesty committed by an outsource service provider to whom you have entrusted or given the means to obtain access to money, securities or insured property
  • Impairment of money and securities – cover for unexplainable disappearance of, or damage to, or destruction of money or securities whilst on the premises or whilst in transit
  • Corporate ID fraud – cover for fees, costs and expenses to reinstate public records, following fraudulent modification, alteration or theft of your identity by an employee or third party
  • Malicious damage to data – cover for the cost of reinstating data following malicious acts committed by an employee or a third party to damage, destroy, erase or delete data or insert unauthorised and corrupting or harmful software code

If you prefer to spread the cost of your annual premium, we offer a quick and easy direct debit scheme. When you choose to pay premiums in instalments, you will be paying under a Premium Finance plan.

We will give you full details of the finance provider, and the additional cost of finance, when we provide you with your payment plan quotation. This will include the total payable, the number of monthly instalments and the cost of each, as well as the representative APR.
